Question: What will change in the Islamic Republic regime’s structure after the charade called the “election?”

Answer: Nothing!

Whoever is pre-determined to assume the role, his opponent will return to exactly where he was before. He will sit on the same chair and returns with the next wave of “elections.” No one will be removed. None of the contenders will become unemployed. By its nature, the system does not omit or modify anything or anyone. These characters are not going anywhere.

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution is sitting at the peak and his tentacles are at work. The headquarters of Imams is active on Friday. The Guardian Council and the Council of Experts continue with their work, as if there were no elections. The Executive Headquarters of Imam’s Directive, Astan Quds Razavi, the Khatam al-Anbia Construction Headquarters, the Mostazafan Foundation, Islamic Propaganda Organization, sizable holdings of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warlords and their subsidiaries and brokers, in addition to fat trust funds set up for their children, will all remain intact. Even if radical Islamists (Jebhe Paydari) fail to take over the executive branch, they will still occupy the cesspool that is called the Islamic Majlis. They will still wreak havoc in schools and universities, and dominate institutions and organizations that constitute the “parallel government.” The same unscrupulous individuals will become governors and ministers again; either the likes of Issa Kalantari and Mohammad Shariatmadari and their sons, or Saeed Mohammad and Mehrdad Bazarpash.

Al-Hashd al-Shaabi, Hezbollah, Ansarullah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and dozens of other large and small terrorist militia groups active in Iraq and Syria, all have astronomical expenses. The cost of the so-called Axis of Resistance will come from the pockets of the Iranian people. Regime-commissioned “journalists” will simply be reshuffled, and sycophants and aficionados will merely change shifts.
The regime’s illicit nuclear program will continue with the same resolve. After all, it is the regime’s lifeline and its survival is tied to it. Dozens of militant and religious groups inside, such as Basij, the Ashura, Brigade Tharullah, Saberin, and Fatehin battalions, and dozens of money-grubbing institutions, from Misbah Institute to Hassan Khomeini’s Bayt, will not see even a penny cut from their allocated budget. Internet freedom, hijab, and free market economy constitute a mirage that is completely under the control of the mafia-state apparatus.
To summarize: Iran will die bit by bit under the dark shadow of the Islamic Republic. Iran has no future within this ghastly mafia structure. These false hopes come from the mouths of those who themselves admit that their red line is the Supreme Leader’s decrees and that they personally idolize him. The promised utopia only delays the time for a nation to face the reality and continue to longer in fear, and fear is the brother of death.
